Under the Sea play day at Grandma Karens

It was our "under the Sea" play day this last week... here are a few pictures from the FUN day.

everyone had already ate lunch- so we just had a few snacks and treats

and of course- it wouldn't be an under the sea party without fish!!

I love that I can tell Jamie what I want for tags & banners and she makes them.... they were perfect!

Jell-o boats are always a hit!!

I thought these could pass for beach umbrellas.....

marshmallow pops.....

oyster cookies- I used yogurt covered raisins for the pearls

pudding cups made up to look like the beach....

Not too bad for a play day at Grandma's. I keep trying to talk the little boys into GOING somewhere for our play day's.... like the zoo or the movie or the park, but they always just want to have a party!! And I'm ok with that... I love that they like to just get together and play- I know that's not going to last for ever!!

Strawberry Shortcake Trifle

It was one of the girls Birthdays a few weeks ago and she wanted Strawberry Shortcake for her Birthday Cake......

so instead of making individual cakes I decided to make it as a trifle.... I LOVE to use this fun bowl whenever I can

I just made an angle food cake and cut it up into small squares. Mixed a large box of vanilla pudding- whipped a pint of whipping cream- sliced 2 pounds of strawberries & mixed them into a batch of pie tone, or danish dessert glaze. Then layer the cake, pudding, strawberry mixture, whipping cream. Layer them 3 or 4 times- ending with whipping cream & top with some fresh strawberries. Then dish it up & ENJOY!!!!!!

Family MOVIE Night!!

Hamblin Family Movie Night

I don't know if I had more fun watching the movie- watching how excited the Grand-kids were- or putting it all together......

Everyone loved the containers filled with single servings of candy..

We had a family movie night out side this last week-end.....and it was so much FUN!

We pulled out the mattress for the little boys to lay on... and used this projector to watch the movie.

I had Jamie make the printables for the Banner & all the snacks, treats, nachos...

and for the top of the plastic candy cups.  We had so much fun, I think this might be something we do as a family A LOT during the summer.  I'll see if Jamie can put together the printable package for all of you and post them to copy- leave me a comment if you would like to have them!!   HAPPY SUMMER to you all!!! :)
